| What is the Application Process? |
- The application process is different for New Memberships and Renewals only in so far as a New Membership application must be supported by two current members of the Club who have been so for more than six months.
- The Application along with all required documents and photographs and this seasons membership fee should be submitted to reception.
- You Children's Junior Sports program selections will be passed on to the relevant coordinating coaches / committee immediately
- New Membership applications will be passed on to the next available Executive Committee meeting for formal approval (generally the first Tuesday of each month).
- Membership Cards & Access Cards will be produced and left in reception for you to collect.
|
| What Documents are required? |
- It is a legal requirement for the club to be in possession of a copy of the Central Population Registration (CPR) card of each 'Active Member'. In the case of members working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a dispensation has been received by the club allowing us to hold the passport details instead.
- 2 passport size photographs are required, one for the files and one for the preparation of your membership card / Access Pass.
- The Completed Application Form (Signed by both adults)
- A Children's Sports Activities Application and Waiver form for each Child.
- A receipt for payment of the season's membership subscription.
- In the case of people participating in overseas sports trips it is handy for us to have their passport details for arranging visas etc
|
| What are the Membership Fees for 2007/8? |
- A family consisting of one (or two) Active Members (Adults) and their children will pay BD 150/- for the 2007/8 season.
- A single Active Member (Adult) will pay BD 100/- for the 2007/8 season.
- Please note no children can be placed on a single membership
|
| I am Under 18 can I join on my own? |
- Regrettably NO. Bahraini law requires all 'Active Members' of the club to be over 18 years of age. Your parent(s) must therefore join the Club with you being a 'Family Member' on their membership.
|
| I turn 18 during the membership year, what do I do? |
- You have two choices, firstly your being a 'Family Member' at the time of renewing your membership of the club will entitle you to participate in the Club's activities up until August 31st next year when you will require your own membership.
- However, if you wish to vote / stand for election etc at the next AGM you should apply for your own membership of the club one you have reached 18 years old.
|
| I have more than one spouse / My child is over 18, what do I have to do? |
- Bahrain RFC's membership policy only allows for one spouse per household to be included in the BD150/- 'Family Membership' package. Additional Spouses must fill in an additional application form and pay as if applying for Single Membership i.e. Husband and two wives - BD150/- + BD100/-
- Bahrain RFC membership policies require adults over the age of 18 to hold their own membership of the club. The only exception to this is in the year the child turns 18 years of age having previously been a 'Family Member' under his parents he/she may remain so until August 31st (the end of the membership year)
|
| Why do I have to pay for each Junior Sports Program? |
- Each Junior Sports Program has different requirements as regards coaching and equipment. The Club undertakes to meet the expenses of providing each coach with adequate backup (Medical and Sports Coaching), to provide the necessary playing areas and equipment, and to endeavour to support each activities trips to overseas tournaments.
- This spreads us pretty thin and in order to provide each child with an appropriate uniform and pay the relevant individual league registration and coaching charges we ask your assistance.
- It should be noted that all monies levied in this way are under the control of the relevant sports coaches / coordinating committee for that particular program. Bahrain RFC does not retain any of this funding
|
| Why has my child been waitlisted, I have paid my membership? |
- We have found that, whilst we would like to provide unlimited places in each age group of each sport we do, the reality is that our facilities will only cope with a certain number. Issues also arise as to participant safety, and the quality of any coaching that can be offered once groups exceed a specific size.
- Each season places to programs are allocated according to previous participation, and then a first come first serve basis.
- It should also be noted that strict attendance records are maintained by each section and children missing more than 3 training sessions lose their place and move to the bottom of the waiting lists
|
| I am joining for my child to participate in one of the sports programs. What can I do if they are waitlisted? |
- In short you have two choices, the first is to simply wait. Some waiting lists move faster than others, some are impossibly long, and some result in us trying to find additional coaches and facilities in order to open second groups.
- Constant communication with the Club, and the coordinating committee for the Junior Sports Program you wish to participate in are the key to obtaining information on each list.
- For some this is not Ok and if you wish to cancel you membership because Bahrain RFC can not provide you with a place we will of course oblige.
|
| How do I apply for my child studying overseas? |
- Children studying overseas fall in to two categories;
- Those under the age of 18 can either be applied for as 'Family Members' under their parents membership or hold an 'Overseas Student's Access Pass'. Either way they will be able to gain entry to the Club on the visits back to Bahrain.
- Those over the age of 18 must hold an 'Overseas Students Access Pass' in order to gain access to the club. There is a small charge for this as an electronic door access card is prepared for them to access they Club on their own when they are in Bahrain
|
| I have visitors coming, can I get them access to the Club? |
- Temporary access to the Club is available to your overseas visitors upon completion of the relevant form, payment of the monthly fee and a deposit for each of their temporary Access Cards (Returnable upon return of the card). Each guest is effectively sponsored by you (even in your absence) and may come and go as they please without you having to accompany them
|
| Are there any restrictions on bringing guests to the Club? |
- No current restrictions are in place with regard to members bringing guests to the Club. A guest fee of BD2/- per person is charged for access to the Club and you guests must leave when you do.
- Additional Restrictions do apply in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan when no members guests are permitted
